Robert Martinez

Princeton University

Robert Martinez is the Manager of Diversity and Inclusion at Princeton University. As part of the diversity management team he develops and implements diversity and inclusion related strategies throughout the University which have contributed to positive changes in its workforce climate and culture. Also, as a representative of the University, he has become a liaison to various professional organizations and institutions in the Mid-Atlantic region that have heightened Princeton's reputation as a progressive and engaging employer.
Prior to this role he managed diversity programs and talent acquisition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he implemented various initiatives that solidified MIT's status as an employer of choice. He joined MIT from the corporate sector having worked in Human Resources at the New England district facilities of UPS where he implemented staffing and retention initiatives. He worked abroad for 10 years in Latin America and 3 nationally as an itinerant minister and a missionary where he had oversight of training and development, and workforce planning programs.
He is a board member of Conexión: Advancing Latino Leadership, The Mercer County Latino Vision Council, a member of PRIMER, a founding member of the Princeton Consortium for Preschool Children, a board member of Synchro Paperless Inc., and on the advisory board of PACTO the Princeton Alliance for Commerce and Trade Organizations.
Robert holds certifications as a Missionary and Minister from the Ministerial Training School of the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead, and as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management from the Society for Human Resource Management. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, attended The University of Southern California, and lived in Ecuador for ten years.
He resides in Princeton New Jersey with his wife and two daughters.
