Jose Piazza is a finance executive with over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, budgeting and executive reporting roles with telecommunications and internet service provider companies, both domestic and international. He is the Staff Vice President – Strategic & Financial Planning for Verizon Wireless, responsible for strategic planning, reporting and analysis, network support and business performance initiatives for the company.
Prior to this assignment, Jose was Executive Director of Strategic Planning responsible for the company’s long term financial projections, annual budget, competitive benchmarking and board presentations.
Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Jose was Director of Budgets, Forecast, Reporting and Analysis with Genuity, a $2B revenue Internet Infrastructure provider, where he directed the company’s budget and managerial reporting processes.
His career includes assignments with various subsidiaries of GTE (a Verizon predecessor company) in various financial planning and analysis areas including strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, and developing and implementing planning processes, systems and reporting requirements. He also has extensive experience in financial reporting, M&A activities and audits of international telecommunications companies, as well as communicating financial information to executives, Board of Directors, investors and analysts.
Jose is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Management Accountant and holds an MBA in Finance/Accounting from the University of Rochester (NY) and a BSBA in Accounting from Washington University in St. Louis (MO). He is a former Treasurer of the Boston Chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA), co-founder and former Treasurer of the New Jersey Chapter of ALPFA. Jose is currently a trustee and treasurer of CASA of New Jersey, founding member and Executive Vice President of Puerto Ricans in Management and Executive Roles (PRIMER) and founding board member and advisor of the NSHMBA New Jersey Chapter.
