Ivan Gutierrez

Ivan Gutierrez is Vice President, Supply Management, at Sodexo USA and is responsible for Equipment, Services and other non-food supplies.
Ivan is an experienced supply chain professional, having begun his career in the engineering function at companies such as Northrop-Grumman and Textron. After earning his law degree, Ivan joined the ranks of purchasing professionals as a corporate purchasing manager for Tyco International-Raychem Corporation, where he managed regional and global sourcing teams. These teams covered categories such as telecommunications, utilities, logistics, MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) and capital equipment. While at Tyco, Ivan established the supply chain functions for the Latin American Operations.
Ivan took on increasingly greater responsibilities in positions at FCI Corporation as Director of Supply Chain for the Americas, and at Northeast Utilities, as the Director of Corporate Services and Purchasing. While in Connecticut, Ivan was a Senior Executive Officer Advisory Board (SEOAB) for the Connecticut Minority Supplier Development Council and Chairman of the Connecticut BusinessLINC program, a fortune 500 mentorship program for small minority businesses, and Board member of the Connecticut National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ).
His most recent position was Executive Director of Purchasing, GAF Materials Corporation, the largest roofing manufacturing company in North America.
Ivan has held internships at the law firm of Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro, as well as in the U.S. Court of Appeals and the White House Office on Environmental Policy. He also was selected as one of the 2007 Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, and highlighted in Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the 2008 Hispanic Business Corporate Elite.
Ivan, who is fluent in Spanish, was born in Nicaragua and came to the U.S. as a 15-year-old with no English language skills and graduated high school as a valedictorian. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science Engineering from Brown University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Puerto Ricans in Management and Executive Roles, PRIMER.
Ivan resides in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania with his wife, Eulalia, and their two children, Ivan and Priscilla, and will be relocating soon to the Gaithersburg area in Maryland.
